ESTAMOS was estabilished in 1996 with the objective of improving the communities' health through integrated water supply and sanitation, HIV / AIDS and Food Security programs. It its inspired in the principles consecrated in the Constitution of the Republic and in the Human Rights Charter. To reach these objectivos ESTAMOS works in coordination with development partners such a like Wateraid and ASDI.

This association is a humanitarian, not-for-profit organization conceived as a legal entity, with administrative, financial, and patrimonial autonomy. ESTAMOS is governed by association-specific statutes, as well as internal regulations and procedures. With Head-Offices in Lichinga, Province of Niassa, where most of its actividadesare concentrated, the organization already has a delegation in the Municipality of Maputo and may open branches in any point of the Country and abroad.

Its main actividades include water and sanitation, HIV / AIDS, nutrition, and advocacy programs.
